I’m excited to announce that my painting of Naro Cinema has been selected to be exhibited at the Virginia Museum of Cotemporary Art in the Where We Meet exhibition!
Since completing this piece, I’ve been moved by how many people in the Hampton Roads area have shared their stories of love tied to this Art Deco gem. Opened in 1936 as The Colley Theater, the Naro has been the backdrop for first dates and a shared passion for film, a true gathering place for love and friendship. This painting is a love letter- to a place, to storytelling, and to the moments and movies that have shaped who we are. It celebrates not just nostalgia, but the deep affection we hold for the spaces and stories that make us feel most alive. 50 limited edition prints of the painting are available from my website shop.
