'Stormy Skies' is part of Anna's new series of work based around childhood memories from summer holidays in the 1980s. This particular scene captures the essence of a windy, stormy day. A lone walker is the only person braving the elements. This person is representational of Anna's mother who also had a yellow raincoat during the 80s.
'Stormy Skies' is beautifully detailed with seashells and seaweed delicately handmade and painted in the foreground. Anna has used thick impasto paint to convey the large bubbling waves.
This new body of work features 3D elements; influenced by Anna's model making experience from studying Theatre Design at Wimbledon School of Art.
